Paula who has been practicing law since 1991, received multiple legal awards for her work in Family Law.  In 2017 Paula received the Nationally Ranked Top 10 Attorney Award for Family Law awarded by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys based on peer nominations and interviews. Paula was also named the 2017 Who’s Who Top Lawyer awarded by Who’s Who Legal.

Raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Paula graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in three years instead of four receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology with departmental honors.  Paula attended the University of Kansas School of Law (KU Law School) at the age of 21 on full academic scholarship.  Graduating a full year early, Paula received her Juris Doctorate Degree from KU Law School at the age of 23.

After graduating law school, Paula worked in the prestigious role of a Judicial Law Clerk for a Judge in Jackson County, Missouri. Paula went on to work as a public defender, then as a city prosecutor and civil litigation attorney in the areas of tax and insurance defense in the City of Kansas City, Missouri Law Department. Thereafter, Paula worked within a well-known law firm in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice before ultimately leaving the firm to raise her children. 

Paula found her passion in family law because family matters. She has been practicing family law since 1998. 

Paula is a member of several Missouri Bar associations and is involved in the Black Female Attorney’s Association where she serves as a board member.
